Ciro Amodio, MD is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is a cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in complex aortic and valvular disease, with a particular focus on aortic valve repair, valve-sparing root replacement, the Ross procedure, and advanced aortic arch and thoracoabdominal surgery.
Dr. Amodio completed his surgical training in Italy at University of Bologna, followed by advanced fellowships in adult congenital and complex aortic surgery in both Europe and the United States. Prior to joining the University of Miami, he served on staff at Cleveland Clinic (Ohio), where he concentrated on complex aortic pathology, including hybrid and endovascular therapies as well as open arch and thoracoabdominal reconstruction.
His clinical and academic interests center on comprehensive aortic care, innovation in valve-preserving strategies, and optimizing perioperative management for patients with complex aortic disease.
